Roger Jerome was born in the UK on July 3, 1936. He studied theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He won prizes for fencing and dialects. He worked in regional theatre including Bristol, Nottingham, and Birmingham. He toured the country for 24 weeks in Beyond the Fringe.
