一天，格蕾琴龍膠勸·威爾遜和約翰·里奇坐在一起看鄉村樂的元辯市歌曲MV。然後他們道企榜看到了菲絲·希爾的《Breathe》，兩人都十分認為菲絲·希爾顏值很罪想犁高，身材很好夜盛，就像一個超模一樣。然後格蕾琴·威爾遜認為她自己永遠不會變成菲絲·希爾那樣，她也不想變成那樣，她自己不整盼櫃趨是那種為了外表而拼了命的人。她棕洪巴良把這個觀點告訴了約翰·里奇。約翰·里奇就問了問她是那一類的人，格蕾琴·威爾遜立刻回答說她是一個鄉下女人（redneck woman）。於是兩人以這個為靈感寫了這首歌。
