創作背景

1998年，埃米納姆被Dr.Dre發掘，他們在一起進入錄音室的第一天一共錄製了四首歌曲，其中的第一首就是《My Name Is》。德瑞醫生當時已經準備好了一段伴奏，他一播放那段伴奏，埃米納姆就開始唱。

最初，德瑞醫生想用該首歌作為英國歌手席佛瑞的歌曲《I Got The...》中背景節奏的小樣帶，而埃米納姆篡改了其中的一些歌詞而漸漸完成了這首歌后，這首歌給了埃米納姆。埃米納姆想藉此首歌抨擊帕米拉·安德森以及自己的父母。
