Kristen Bjorn's Men Amongst the Ruins showcases the director at his sumptuous best. Known for his exotic, beautiful locales and equally beautiful men, Bjorn has fashioned another example of great eye candy that is rich in colors, sounds, and sex. Set amongst the ruins of an unidentified South or Central American country (I wish I knew where, I could use a vacation) Bjorn begins the film with Savio Silva and Lucius Socrates tucked away, engaged in a heavy make out session. Another couple (Andres Duranza and Rafael Alencar) shows up and they begin to lick each other enthusiastically. They slip into some expert oral sex until Silva and Alencar shoot loads, Alencar on Duranza’s face. Then Socrates and Duranza shove their cocks through carved wooden bars so Silva and Alencar can reciprocate. Again, the blow jobs are delivered with such sincerity and loving care, it’s mind boggling in a good way, because rarely do I see such amazing technique… on screen that is. Next is Slava Petrovich, looking gorgeously handsome with his medium length, sandy colored hair strolling through the ruins. He is being staked out by three thugs who basically steal his man purse. Wanting to make his fantasy come true, Veneziano searches for Petrovich, stumbling across the couples from the first scene. Veneziano is so turned on from the scene (um, I was turned on by the scene) he goes back into fantasy mode. This time, Veneziano wants his butthole popped by Petrovich and the chiseled man kindly obliges. Petrovich slides his uncut man meat up the tattooed daydreamer who moans and squirms until our duo pops thick loads. The following scene appears only in the mail-order version. After his sexual daydream, Veneziano continues his man quest. We encounter tattooed and shaved-headed Lucas Andrades and beefy Julio Vidal kissing under a gate. Scandinavian hunk Marcus Ocean is watching them from afar and when Andrades begins his blow job on Vidal, Ocean must get a piece of the action. A sexual roundelay begins where rimming, fucking and cumming all under the gate. You’ve got to love well designed architecture. Meanwhile Juan Jimenez, who is the boss of our three thieves, discovers that rugged Attila Sipos has skimmed some of the money. Punishment comes in the form of providing oral and ass service to Jimenez and the other thieves - Jeremy Shelton and David Chelsea. Highlight of this scene is a double penetration delivered by Jimenez and Shelton to the pliable Chelsea. The segment has an aggressive feel but is also balanced by director Bjorn’s expertise in camera shots and seamless transitions showcasing the versatility of our hunky men. Veneziano has popped back into fantasy mode. In this moment, Veneziano is the top in the situation, pounding Petrovich’s ass with so much passion and enthusiasm, I had to rub my own bum to make sure it wasn’t happening to me. A big plus for those of you who like foreplay: this scene is rich with rimming, foreskin play, frottage, and kissing. Another impressive observation is Veneziano’s ability to drop a load without touching himself. (Talk about talent!) In fact, it is so mercilessly romantic, the scene ends with the two guys in a sweet, tender and incredibly wet kiss. The following scene features Mattiheu Costa, Ken Mifune, Dade County, Cesar Moreno and Sergio Del Castillo. The stand-out here is Ken Mifune. Hunky and sporting a cute goatee, any stereotypes about Asians being sexually passive and 100% smooth are quickly dispelled since Mifune is incredibly capable of dishing it out and taking on any of these men. It’s really a testament to director Bjorn’s vision that he features a multi-racial cast in most of his films, most of whom are often versatile and always passionate. With its generous length, there are enough sexual hi-jinks to make this a terrific addition to your collection. Consistent with Bjorn’s style, Men Amongst the Ruins is a beautifully shot film that showcases aggressive and tender sex between hot men, a fantastic sense of pacing to keep the viewer turned on, and a soothing soundtrack that complements the action. (Perfect background music for yoga!)
