Lakemba Station
Lakemba railway station is a railway station on the CityRail Bankstown Line, located in the Sydney suburb of Lakemba.
Platforms/Service
Lakemba is generally served by four trains per hour in each direction, although this can vary during peak hours when some services are more frequent, including some express services. The weekend and late evenings are half hour services. Lakemba has an island platform.
Platform 1:
Bankstown Line - all stations and limited stops services to Central and the City Circle.
Platform 2:
Bankstown Line - all stations and limited stops services to Lidcombe or Liverpool via Bankstown.
Access
The original wooden ticket office above the station was demolished after it was heavily damaged by fire and replaced by a modern metal and glass structure. The station was subject to an 'Easy Access upgrade' in 2006, installing two elevators for less mobile patrons to get from the street to the top of the station, and an elevator in the middle which brings patrons down to the island platform. At the eastern end of the station, a road bridge carries Lakemba's main shopping street, Haldon Street, over the railway line.
