Burning Spear原名Winston Rodney，1948年3月1日出生在牙買加，牙買加著名roots reggae音樂家。Rodney深受Bob Marley和Marcus Garvey的影響。Garvey教會了他哲學和如何冷靜的觀察,，Marley幫助Burning Spear進入音樂領域 Burning Spear組建了Jomo Kenyatta，Burning Spear強烈支持Marcus Garvey的非洲後裔要自主自立的觀點，他的專輯和音樂也很激進。
專輯介紹
2002年, Burning Spear和他的妻子Sonia Rodney創建了Burning Spear唱片公司，Burning Spear的音樂理念是提倡誠實、和平、和愛。
在第51屆格萊美音樂獎頒獎典禮上，Burning Spear憑藉《Jah Is Real》獲最佳雷鬼專輯獎。
