創作背景
1978年春天，葛羅莉亞·蓋羅在歐洲登台時不小心跌落舞台，致使葛羅莉亞的脊髓受損並因此臥在床長達9個月之久，更為不幸的是復健期間母親去世，一連串的打擊幾乎讓她崩潰。康復後葛羅莉亞·蓋羅努力振作，找來了兩位製作人弗雷迪·佩倫和迪諾·費卡里斯共同寫下《I Will Survive》以證明自己戰勝了怯懦。
