華東師範大學智庫兼職研究員、紫江學者，國際著名經濟地理學家，加拿大多倫多大學政治學系終身教授。兼任加拿大總理任命的加拿大國家創新與治理高級研究會主席、德國總理聘任的德國聯邦政府國家創新體系建設國際顧問、國際地理聯合會IGU空間經濟專業委員會委員（SEC）、經濟地理學頂級期刊Journal of Economic Geography主編、國際著名學術刊物Economic Geography編委等職。主持過多個德國國家項目，發表過70餘篇學術論文，出版著作28部。主要研究領域為：創新與集群發展；產業結構調整與治理系統；全球化與區域化。Harald Bathelt教授是我校多年的合作夥伴，合作開展了有關中國長三角城市群發展的多個研究項目，也多次共同組織國際會議，定期到校為博、碩士研究生授課。
