Glory Glory Man United為曼徹斯特聯隊的第二首隊歌,曲調高昂,催人奮進,每次聽到它都感覺義氣昂揚,充滿了英雄主義的鬥志豪情,也充分體現了曼聯作為當今世界足壇豪門俱樂部的雄偉霸氣.隨著歷史的發展，這首歌共有三個版本，其中第二個版本最為流行。而這首經典歌曲的來源卻是出自一首不朽的且流傳已久的經典歌曲:The Battle Hymn of the Republic（共和國戰歌).
歌曲的來源
這首歌的最初還是起源於英格蘭,它來自清教信徒聚會時的讚美詩 Oh brothers, will you meet us on Canaan's happy shore, 後來清教徒大量湧入美洲大陸,衍生了許多其它版本.1861 年,為了紀念被殺害的著名廢奴主義者約翰.布朗,美國人在旋律基礎上為他編了一首 John Brown’s Body, 後來在聯邦軍隊中廣為傳唱.這首歌,或者說是這首旋律,在美國歷史上占有非常重要的地位.據後來的考證,該曲可能是由一個叫William Steffe的人收集整理的並把它加上詞,變成了"Battle Hymn of the Republic”的前身—"John Brown's Body”“約翰布朗的屍體正在墳墓中腐爛，但他的靈魂卻在和我們並肩前進!"

後來,Julia Ward Howe 女士把它改編為美國歷史上最著名的The Battle Hymn of the Republic （共和國戰歌）.

而曼聯的這首 Glory Glory Man United 來自什麼呢,這首歌是直接根據《共和國戰歌》改編而來.其實,20 世紀 60 年代,熱刺球迷就用過這個旋律了,但曼聯球迷在 1986 年足總杯決賽中發行了現在這首耳熟能詳的 Glory Glory Man United. 1994 年,英國搖滾樂隊 Status Quo 還出了一首單曲 Come on You Reds 在當時英國非常流行,曾經占據了英國單曲排行榜第一名位置兩周,有意思的是,參與這首歌創作的 Francis Rossi, 是個熱刺球迷.其實歷史上,不只熱刺,利茲球迷也用過這個旋律改編成球迷歌曲.但確實是曼聯球迷把它發揚光大.
