1998年，奧地利著名新古典主義吉他手Lanvall與女主唱Sabine Edelsbacher 以及貝司手Kurt Bednarsky共同組建了樂隊最初的雛形，直到鼓手Roland

Navratil加入後， EDENBRIDGE(伊甸之橋）最終確立。

發展歷史

Edenbridge於1998年成立之後,迅速開始籌備專輯工作,在1999年進入錄音室,並於同年與Massacre Records簽訂唱片契約. 第二年的秋天,他們的處女專輯 Sunrise in Eden 正式發行.

在2000年2月,樂隊迎來了第二位吉他手Georg Edelmann的加入, 但是他滯留在樂隊里很短的一段時間,在2001年1月份離隊後,由Andreas Eiblar代替. 在這個樂隊陣容下,Edenbridge在2001年發行了第二張專輯 Arcana. 在2002年的一次巡演中,作為Edenbridge的貝斯手以及創立成員之一的Kurt Bednarsky的離隊. 同年11月, 專輯 Aphelion 發行. 接下來的一張專輯是一張現場專輯, 名字為A Livetime In Eden, 該專輯於倆年後於2004年8月分正式發行. 之後很快於10月份 新專輯 Shine 正式發行. 這是新的貝斯手Frank Bindig加入樂隊. 同年12月 吉他手Andreas Eibler 和平離開樂隊,由Martin Mayr替代.

The Grand Design 是樂隊的第五張錄音室專輯,於2006年5月19日發行. 這張專輯是在Lanvall's studio Farpoint Station 錄音完成的. 單曲"For Your Eyes Only" 已於4月21日預先發行,並包括了專輯中的一支曲目"Evermore"以及James Bond風格的"For Your Eyes Only"的翻唱歌曲(這首歌原唱為Sheena Easton),這也是Edenbridge有史以來錄製的第一支翻唱歌曲.

Edenbridge 與Napalm Records 簽訂了世界範圍內的契約.之後於2007年1月30日, Edenbridge分別在美國和加拿大發行了新專輯 The Grand Design.

Edenbridge 在2008年4月發行了專輯 MyEarthDream .這張專輯首次迎來了了管弦樂隊的參與錄製. 這支管弦樂隊為 the Czech Film Orchestra (在Enrique Ugarte的安排下,由65為來自 the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra 和 the Czech State Opera Orchestra 的音樂家組成).

2008年11月13日,Edenbridge宣布了貝斯手Frank Bindig的離開. 在樂隊的官方聲明中,他們說"...Frank Bindig has decided to leave Edenbridge due to his other projects. Edenbridge wish Frank all the best for the future!(Frank Bindig決定離開Edenbridge,專注於他其它的項目. Edenbridge祝Frank一切順利! )"

2009年4月,樂隊宣布Simon Holzknecht成為他們的新貝斯手, Dominik Sebastian 成為新的吉他手.一段時間後,在2009年5月4日, Edenbridge 發行了現場專輯 LiveEarthDream, 這張專輯在2008年的各場演唱會中錄製完成. 限量1000張,只能通過歌迷俱樂部訂購. 樂隊公開了新的專輯名字為 Solitaire. 該專輯於2010年7月2日發行.

2010年2月,Edenbridge宣布貝斯手Simon Holzknecht因為個人原因已經離隊.

音樂風格

1999年，樂隊錄製了他們的首張專輯《Sunrise in Eden》，在這其中，Lanvall更是將自己非凡的創作力與演奏天賦發揮得淋漓盡致；而女主唱Sabine宛如天籟的歌喉令音樂充滿了夢幻般的意境，悠揚、縹緲，如詩如畫。正是這張極具潛力的作品使樂隊獲得了Massacre Records唱片公司的一紙契約。2000年，樂隊首張專輯的發行一鳴驚人：洋溢著溫情的演唱，古典式華麗的吉他演奏，無不顯示出典雅而充滿浪漫主義色彩的音樂氛圍，EDENBRIDGE的名聲也因此不斷的遠播各地。飄逸、秀美的女聲，激情四射的吉他速彈演奏，加之大氣恢宏的音樂氛圍，使EDENBRIDGE愈發在金屬樂壇中建立起極高的聲譽，並被無數樂迷們稱之為與NIGHTWISH、WITHINTEMPTATION、LACUNA COIL等樂團齊名的“世界十大女聲金屬樂團”之一。

伊甸之橋最經典的歌曲有Sunrise in Eden，Forever shine on，Centennial Legend等。
