After anabsence of professional boxing, Augusta Georgia is about to bring it back Big Time. In the City of Augusta, many are familiar with the name of Rayonta“Ray”Whitfield and there are those who will have a chance to become acquainted with this young gentleman gladiator.Ray is a young man beloved by the City of Augusta beyond his successes as a professional boxer, due to his major dedication and devotion to the youngsters in the community of Augusta who are training at Ray’s boxing facility.Ray is known in the community with respect to his achievements by the accomplishments of the youngsters he has developed and is currently developing, not just as young boxers and athletes, but as honorable youngsters and adults of the Augusta community and their achieving attributes.Ray is extremely excited about having the opportunity to fight in the professional boxing event slatet the Bell Auditorium in Augusta.Some of the accomplishments he brings to the table include: being featured in USA Boxing Magazine; in 2002, he was the recipient of USA Boxing’s Michael Nunnery Character Award; and was the National Golden Gloves Champion.The following year, he again became the National Golden Gloves Champion; served as the spokesperson for the USA Team at the Olympic Trials; was Ranked #1 by USA Boxing; was a member of the Team USA Pan AM Games; and won the US vs. Russia Gold Medal. In 2004, Ray participated in the U. S. Olympic Boxing Trials. He has accomplished many other achievements too numerous to mention during his career as an amateur boxer.
