2005年，"City of Blinding Lights"在U2的VertigoTour演唱會首次現場演出，自此，每次U2的現場演唱會，"City of Blinding Lights"都作為第一首歌曲演出。
在電影“穿PRADA的惡魔"中，主角一行剛到巴黎，有一組蒙太奇鏡頭，背景音樂正是"City of Blinding Lights"。
在2008年歐巴馬競選期間，"City of Blinding Lights"被選為競選歌曲之一，據稱歐巴馬選這首歌曲，是因為”不會使老一代人感到心煩，新一代的年輕人也能接受“。歐巴馬個人曾說這是他最喜歡的歌曲之一。
在歐巴馬就職典禮之前，2009年1月18日，林肯紀念館舉辦We Are One演唱會，在40萬現場觀眾面前，U2演出了這首歌曲，Bono當時對在場的歐巴馬說"對於4個從北都柏林來的愛爾蘭男孩來說，能為總統獻歌，讓我們感到非常激動，特別是總統先生選中City of Blinding Lights，是我們的驕傲。“
2006年世界盃期間，美國ESPN電視台採用City of Blinding Lights作為一組廣告的主題曲，廣告由Bono本人配音，展示了來自世界各地的孩子踢足球的場景。2010年1月，ESPN繼續用這首曲子做2010世界盃的廣告曲。
2008年，NASA使用City of Blinding Lights作為STS-126太空梭的早安曲，這首曲子是特別為太空梭上的任務專家Shane點播的。
當地時間2017年1月10日晚9點，歐巴馬在芝加哥發表告別演講，回顧八年執政歷程，請求美國民眾在始終相信“美國精神”，演講開始前，歐巴馬入場時，場上再次響起這首"City of Blinding Lights"。
