當歷史不停向前趨駛時，有些人永遠是走在歷史的前端，為歷史留下腳註，而其中Bob Dylan便是這么一位開創歷史先河的吟遊民謠詩人。Bob Dylan深受美國現代民謠之父Woody Guthrie的影響，且在其它方面如腔調、服裝、姿態等等也都無不模仿Woody的神情。Dylan在被傳奇製作人John Hammond發掘後，便開始連續錄製了好幾張非常具政治意識的民謠抗議歌曲，這樣的大膽作風旋即衝擊了當時的樂壇，當然也立刻獲得各方評論界的一致讚揚。甚至在當時整個樂壇已逐漸被眾多英籍兵團入侵之時，Bob Dylan卻都還能在排行榜上占有一席之地，也益發證明他在當時確實激勵了無數的青年也開始拿起吉他唱出屬於他們世代的民歌.
