BE TRUE TO YOUR SCHOOL by the BEACH BOYS from 1963 is an homage to their high school times in Hawthorne, California. The three filmmakers Tatjana Theuer, Carolin Hohberg and Chantale Eglin have visually reinterpreted this song 55 years later.
The result is an animated music video consisting of 620 single images, in which the lyrics and the Beach Boys themselves dance across the screen in original styles and warm colours.
Other images include: lockers, books, snapshots of football players, cheerleaders and high school graduation hats all reminiscent of a long-gone school time. A colourful film that raises good cheer and brings sunshine to grey winter days.
