德國數學家德樂思教授(Andreas Dress)2月14日在人民大會堂榮獲中國科學技術國際合作獎。該獎項授予對中國的科學技術發展有傑出貢獻的外國人或者組織。德樂思教授曾是上海計算生物學研究所所長,該研究所是中國科學院和德國馬克斯·普朗克學會合作共建。德樂思教授因他在建立計算生物學研究所方面的傑出貢獻被授予此獎。德樂思教授曾經兩次獲得德意志學術交流中心DAAD的短期講學金。在此,衷心祝賀德樂思教授獲得該獎項。

研究領域包括幾何學、代數學、拓撲學、分子進化學、計算生物學、組合學、拓撲化學及圖像處理。
曾在德國Oberwolfach數學研究所和薩爾洲的瓦登-達格施杜信息研究中心組織過多次學術會議,範圍涉及代數K-理論、組合幾何學和近似學理論。另外,還在德國Bad Honnef物理中心和比勒菲爾德交叉學科研究中心(ZIF) 組織過多個學術會議,範圍包括結晶圖形、拓撲化學、計算和理論生物學等。
早期的工作致力於解決純數學的問題,從基礎幾何學到數論、拓撲、替換、代數…以及對有限和次有限集合的正則表達理論。與Manfred Eigen合作解決了分子進化和計算生物學的相關問題,奠定了相似/相異的正則數學理論的基礎,被廣泛套用於系統發生學領域。此後,與生物學界開始進行更多的接觸與合作,使數學和生物信息學、基因組學緊密地聯繫起來。
近年來,開展了圖形處理和圖像合成方面的研究工作,它們廣泛套用於最最佳化理論中的組合學和離散數學、結晶圖形、化學、醫學以及純數學中的古典代數學和丟番圖逼近。
