Alan Palmer is 52 years old and lives in the North-west of England in the county of Lancashire. He wasalways interested in learning languages when he was young and although he started learning German at school when he was 11 years old, he didn't seriously start learning a foreign language until the age of 35. Since then he has mostly studied French and German. However in 2007 he started to learn Chinese which has now become a satisfying hobby. He has recently also started to learn Spanish.Alan Palmer

He renamed his website “我的英國，你的英文” in 2008 and he hopes that this website could become a useful resource for many English learners and English enthusiasts in China and also become a useful way of learning about and experiencing English culture. He is bringing his particular learning ideas and experience of many years of language study to the website and its development.He finds that by doing this, it can also help to improve his Chinese and practice his language ability.
