carapace smale.subrhomboidal in lateral view,anterior end broadly round,oblique downward;posterior end round,dorsal margin arched;ventral margin slightly concave behind the middle,greatest height situated in or behind the middle.fusular in dorsal view,wide in the middle,both ends point; greatest width centrally,subequal to the nine-tenth of the length,longer than the height;lateral margins slightly round in the middle,straight anteriorly and posteriorly.surface covered with strong reticulations and one faint node near dorsal-middle part. marginal zone moderately broad.hingement merodont,consisting of an anterior long shallow groove, a posterior deep socket and a median ridge on the left valve and an anterior laminate angular projection, a posterior strong sharply cut tooth and a median groove on the right valve.in lateral view of larva,anteriaor end broadly round;posterior end narrowly round;ventral margin straight.
