《視聽指南:高級英語系列錄像》（以下簡稱系列錄像）是中央廣播電視大學與英國文化委員會和北京外國語大學合作開展的“遠距離英語教學項目”的核心成果之一是電大開放教育英語本科的配套音像教材。該系列錄像將語言教學與文化背景知識融為一體。在為學習者展現真實、地道英語語言的同時，提供了相關的文化背景知識，內容豐富，形式多樣，既有在英、美等國家當地拍攝的風土人情，又有對英、美等國家普通人生活與工作的採訪，具有很強的知識性、趣味性及觀賞性。奉系列節目由具有豐富電視教學經驗的英國專家主講，由我校長期從事電視英語教學的教師全面策劃。
《視聽指南》對系列錄像的全部40個節目內容分別進行指導，既可供教師作為系列錄像課的教學參考，又可作為學生的自學指導。
