John lived in a village. His father had a big piece of farm and worked hard on it.Theold man always wore old clothes and ate the cheapest food. So he left a lot of money to hisson when he died. The young man bought everything he wanted and wore the nicestclothes.
It was December. John went to the town to buy something for Christmas Day. Hebought a lot of expensive things and put them in his car. His friend Fred saw it and wentto say hello to him. It was snowing hard and the weather was cold. Fred asked him to drinkin the bar. They drank much and at last he went to sleep. When they woke up, nightfell. They went out of the bar, but he couldn't find his car. He went to the police station andtold them about it.
A year later the police station caught a few thieves in the town. John's friend wasin them. He said he told his brother to steal the car when John was in the bar. The policetold John to get his car back. But after he took a look inside the car, he said, "It isn't mycar! There were lots of Christmas presents in mine."
