電話英語口語水平測試

英語口語水平測試（Spoken English Level test，簡稱SELT）是由英語國家外教和口語測試者進行一次系統、有序的英語交談，經過科學、客觀、真實的評測，得出英語口語等級報告的一個過程。它可以口語測試者一步到位了解到：1.英語處於怎樣的水平？2.已具備的英語口語技能中，優勢和癥結分別在哪裡？3.如想想繼續提升英語水平，需要加強哪方面的練習？4.根據個人在學業/事業上對英語技能的需求，應制定怎樣的學習計畫？

方式與等級

SELT是通過電話連線，進行1對1純英語交流的形式進行測試。測試結果共分5段10級，即準備級（0級）、基礎級（1-3級）、中級（4-6級）、高級（7-9級）、專家級（10級）

測試評分標準

SELT評分標準借鑑雅思（即國際英語語言測試系統）口語考試的評分方法，在評估量表上進行評分，各項評估量表，均有嚴格的數位化評分標準，例如在“對英語理解能力評估量表”上，評分標準如下：

8分	Very Good User. Has fully operational command of the language with only occasional unsystematic inaccuracies and inappropriacies. Misunderstandings may occur in unfamiliar situations. Handles complex detailed argumentation well.	非常良好，能將英語運用自如，只是偶爾有不連線的錯誤和不恰當，在不熟悉的狀況下可能出現誤解，可將複雜細節的爭論掌握的相當好。
7分	Good User. Has operational command of the language, though with occasional inaccuracies, inappropriacies and misunderstandings in some situations. Generally handles complex language well and understands detailed reasoning.	有能力運用英語，雖然在某些情況有時會發生不準確、不適當和誤解，大致可將複雜的英語掌握的不錯，也理解其全部內容。
6分（澳大利亞移民&英國留學分數線）	Competent User. Has generally effective command of the language despite some inaccuracies, inappropriacies and misunderstandings. Can use and understand fairly complex language, particularly in familiar situations.	大致能有效的運用英語，雖然有不準確、不適當和誤解發生，能使用並理解相當複雜的英語，特別是在熟悉的情況時。
5分（加拿大移民&紐西蘭移民分數線）	Modest User. Has partial command of the language, coping with overall meaning in most situations, though is likely to make many mistakes.Should be able to handle basic communication in own field.	可部分運用英語，在大多數情況下可應付全部的意思，雖然可能犯下許多錯誤，在本身領域內應可掌握基本的溝通。
4分（英國預科分數線）	Limited User. Basic competence is limited to familiar situations. Has frequent problems in understanding and expression. Is not able to use complex language.	水平有限，只限在熟悉的狀況下有基本的理解力，在理解與表達上常發生問題，無法使用複雜英語。
3分	Extremely Limited User. Conveys and understands only general meaning in very familiar situations. Frequent breakdowns in communication occur.	水平極有限，在極熟悉的情況下，只能進行一般的溝通理解。
2分	Intermittent User. No real communication is possible except for the most basic information using isolated words or short formulae in familiar situations and to meet immediate needs. Has great difficulty understanding spoken and written English.	只屬於偶爾使用英語，除非在熟悉的情況，使用單詞和簡短的短句表達最基本的信息，在說寫方面有重大的障礙。
1分	Non User. Essentially has no ability to use the language beyond possibly a few isolated words.	只能說幾個單詞

科學性

理論支持：基於英國牛津交際法語言教學專家布倫特（C. J. Brumfit）教授和詹森（K. Johnson）教授的理論，強調以實際交流為主的英語教學與測評方法。人工評測相對一般測評軟體更具可靠性和準確性：由一批資深外教組成的一個專門為學員提供測試服務的小組，不僅是英語教研精英，更具備資深的英語語言評量、問題診斷、教學指引等能力。其測評結果的科學性、可靠性、準確性和全面性，是一般測評軟體不可比擬的。多人同時評斷，提升測試結果的公正、嚴謹度：為了使等級測試更公正、權威、嚴謹，使測試報告不會成為個人的主觀臆斷，每一次測試，都由5位口語測評小組人員共同參與，以與學員進行直接交流的教師為主，成立一個臨時組合團隊，在10分鐘測試時間結束後，5位測評人員分別通過錄音對學員的英語運用能力進行分析、診斷，根據語言測評標準對被測者的辭彙、語法、理解、發音、流利度和連貫性等項目進行打分和建議，最終，取其平均分值作為測試結果，並將英語能力提升方案納入等級測試報告中，至此完成對一位口語測試者的英語水平測試工作。

測試結果

由於學員在接受測試時，所發揮出來的口語水平可能與平常情況下可能有所差異，另外由於測試時間的限制，以及測試老師的風格，都對測試結果具有一定程度的影響，因此，測試結果只能反映學員在接受測試當時的口語水平，具有“暫時可靠性”。可為其繼續深造、學習英語提供數據參考，不可作為能力選拔的標準。
