人物經歷
1987年分配到中國石油勘探開發研究院地質所工作,先後擔任地質所室副主任、室主任、副所長。
2000-2001年任中國石油勘探開發研究院物探技術研究所所長。
2002-2003年在吉林油田掛職鍛鍊,任吉林油田分公司副總地質師。
2003年3月任中國石油勘探開發研究院地質所所長。
2005年6月任中國石油勘探開發研究院副總地質師兼地質所所長。
2007年4月至今任中國石油勘探開發研究院副院長、黨委委員。
2014年1月至今任國家973計畫《中國陸相緻密油(頁岩油)形成機理與富集規律》項目首席科學家。
2014年8月至2016年11月任國家能源緻密油氣研發中心主任。
2016年12月至今任國家能源頁岩氣研發(實驗)中心主任。
2009年5月至今任中國礦物岩石地球化學學會副理事長。
2008年12月至今任北京石油學會副理事長。
2009年12月至今任中國石油學會天然氣專業委員會副主任。
2015年12月至今任中國地質學會納米地質專業委員會副主任。
2017年11月當選中國科學院院士。
2019年1月入選愛思維爾2018年中國高被引學者榜單。
主要成就
鄒才能長期從事常規-非常規油氣地質科研與勘探工作,創建了非常規油氣地質學理論,第一個發現北美以外更古老的頁岩氣層系和具工業價值的納米孔隙,揭示非常規油氣“連續型”聚集規律,首創“人工油氣藏”開發概念,提出常規-非常規油氣“有序聚集、協同發展”理念。論證了岩性地層油氣成藏機理,建立湖盆中心砂質碎屑流等沉積模式。闡明了古老碳酸鹽岩大氣田形成分布規律,構建“四古”成藏模式。推動了我國油氣勘探戰略轉變與重大發現。出版《非常規油氣地質學》中英文專著教材。
