主要通過遺傳學、分子生物學和生物化學、細胞生物學和生物信息學等方法在模式植物擬南芥和水稻中研究小RNA介導的植物抗病毒免疫機制。實驗室利用模式植物擬南芥建立了一套新的遺傳篩選系統來分離植物抗病毒免疫缺陷的突變體和挖掘新的植物內源抗病毒因子,並通過研究這些抗病毒因子的功能來系統闡述小RNA介導的植物抗病毒免疫機制及其在重要作物抗病毒實踐中的套用。
