內容簡介
To make rural dcvelopment studies more relevant and contribute to policy change in China's higher education system, a group of pioneers, including university staff. rescarchers, students, and farmers joined forces in 2005 and launched an innovative, participatory curriculum development initiative.
What changes are being brought about by this novel initiative？ I lave students, teachers and their universities benefitted？ What has been the influence on higher education policy？To find detailed answers to these questions, a novel tracer study was designed and carried out, following the progressional and personal paths of a selected number of the pioneers.
This book presents a first-hand and lively picture of how the intiative is contributing to individual's professional development, in terms of attitude change, knowledge accumlation and the gaining of more skills, it also traces the influence on peoples personal development, It then summarizes changes happening at the organizational and policy levels. Some explanations are offered as to why these changes are happening.
This book is of interest to rural development teachers, facilitators, students, researchers and practitioners.
