查爾斯·狄更斯（Charles John Huffam Dickens） 查爾斯·狄更斯（Charles Dickens）（1812－1870），英國小說家，出生於海軍小職員家庭，10歲時全家被迫遷入負債者監獄，11歲就承擔起繁重的家務勞動。曾在皮鞋作坊當學徒，16 歲時在律師事務所當繕寫員，後擔任報社採訪記者。他只上過幾年學，全靠刻苦自學和艱辛勞動成為知名作家。
