2008年於華中科技大學物理系凝聚態物理獲理學博士畢業。2009年3月-2011年3月在清華大學材料科學與工程系及北京電子顯微鏡中心博士後流動站交流學習。先後從事了光與物質的相互作用、光電光伏材料的製備與器件集成、碳基半導體自旋電子學材料等方面的科研工作。主要致力於新型太陽能電池材料及製備、光伏發電系統設計與最佳化,磁電子材料與器件、高能雷射加工等方面的研究工作。先後在國內外權威學術刊物 《Nature》、《J. Phys. D》等上發表SCI 、EI論文30餘篇。主持或主研國家自然科學基金、湖北省自然科學基金、湖北省教育廳青年基金、湖北省科技廳中小型企業創新基金等項目多項。自2007 年起,被邀請擔任Phys. Lett. A 等國際學術刊物的審稿人。現為三峽大學“151”人才工程學術帶頭人,並任新能源研究院副院長。
