謝瑞平，湖南資興人。浙江大學經濟學博士，美國伊利諾伊大學香檳分校（Unversity of Illinois at Urbana & Champaign, UIUC）訪問學者。廈門大學經濟學院碩士生導師。

2003年7月，畢業於浙江大學經濟學院博士研究生專業，獲得經濟學博士學位。

2010年8月—2011年8月，美國伊利諾伊香檳分校（UIUC）經濟系，訪問學者。
