《認知心理學視角下的會話理解(英文版)》旨在探討對話者的觀點採擇過程,採取心理語言學方法,利用行為實驗著重考察了對話雙方對確切指代詞的理解。研究提出並討論了理解確切指代詞的兩個重要因素:共同基礎和心理理論。一方面,共同基礎是理解指代詞的主要限制條件,即雙方共同的經驗知識會縮小並限制雙方的知識範疇,排除範疇以外的解釋,從而使雙方能夠準確理解指代性語言。
