Drink to me only with thine eyes

And I will pledge with mine

Or leave a kiss but in the cup

And I'll not look for wine

The thirst that from the soul doth rise

Doth ask a drink divine

But might I of Jove's Nectar sup

I would not change for thine

I sent thee late a rosy wreath

Not so much honoring thee

As giving it a hope, that there

It could not withered be

But thou there on did'st only breathe

And sent'st it back to me

Since when it grows, and smells, I swear

Not of itself. but thee

作者簡介

本·嬌生（Ben Jonson，約1572年6月11日－1637年8月6日），英格蘭文藝復興劇作家、詩人和演員。他的作品以諷刺劇見長，《福爾蓬奈》（Volpone）和《鍊金士》（The Alchemist）為其代表作，他的抒情詩也很出名。 英國詩人，劇作家，評論家 。1572年6月11日生於倫敦。主要詩集有《格言詩》、《森林集》、《灌木集》等曾就學於古代史學者坎姆登，並在其資助下到威斯敏斯特學校讀書，獲得關於希臘、羅馬文學的豐富知識。後又博覽群書，成為當時學識最淵博的劇作家之一。

譯者簡介

黍黎釋，80後詩人，書法家，翻譯。2003年開始自由寫作,是中國“80後代表詩人”之一，主要代表作品《古井秦簡》、《蕭邦想起夜曲》、《回到夢開始的地方》等詩歌。
