袁濤博士長期從事天然藥物化學的研究工作，包括生物活性先導化合物的發現和最佳化，體外活性篩選，植物提取物化學標記物的發現和表征，植物膳食補充劑的開發。曾參與國家自然科學基金、國家科技重大專項、以及中科院知識創新工程等項目。在SCI期刊(如：Organic Letters, Journal of Natural Products, Tetrahedron)發表文章30餘篇。在天然產物（如：中草藥、藥用植物）的分離純化、結構鑑定以及體外活性篩選方面有著豐富的經驗。在國外的學習研究階段，積累了豐富的植物膳食補充劑開發經驗。
