袁林旺,男,1973年11月生,博士,南京師範大學教授,博士生導師,國家傑出青年基金獲得者。南京師範大學地理科學學院院長,兼任中國地理學會青工委副主任、虛擬地理環境教育部重點實驗室學術秘書。1995年本科畢業於南京師範大學地理系,1998年碩士畢業於南京師範大學地理科學學院地圖學與遙感專業,獲碩士學位;2001年博士畢業於南京師範大學地理科學學院自然地理學專業,獲博士學位。2009-2010年在美國德克薩斯大學達拉斯分校從事高訪研究。入選教育部“新世紀優秀人才培養計畫”、江蘇省“青藍工程中青年學術帶頭人”及首屆校“百名領軍人才培養計畫”。曾獲得第三屆江蘇省青年地理科技獎和江蘇省優秀教學成果一等獎。兼任虛擬地理環境教育部重點實驗室學術秘書和“Geographical Analysis”摘要翻譯。主要從事GIS理論與方法研究,主持863課題、國家自然科學基金及科技支撐項目子課題等國家級課題4項,在“Advances in Applied Clifford Algebras”、“Transactions in GIS”、“中國科學”、“科學通報”、“軟體學報”、“測繪學報”、“電子學報”等刊物發表論文40餘篇,其中SCI、SSCI和EI收錄論文23篇。
