《英語口譯綜合能力(2級)》的主體由12個單元構成，每個單元基本上有四個部分。第一部分是聽力練習，共兩組。第一組是10個正誤判斷題，在聽每段錄音之後做出判斷。第二組是10道單項選擇題，是在聽完每段錄音之後選出正確答案。第二部分是閱讀，文章長度在600到900字，內容涉及國際政治、經濟、貿易、法律、社會、科技等不同領域。閱讀文章前面有一段英文的提示，幫助學員掌握要點。文章後面對難點做了註解，並附有辭彙略表。第三部分的問答幫助學員進行口語練習，學員可以通過錄音先聽課文的內容，然後回答問題。或者先閱讀課文，讀完再回答問題。第四部分是寫作練習，要求學員用200字到250字的篇幅寫出一篇短文，將課文的內容加以總結。和上面的練習一樣，學員可以嘗試先“聽”課文，把要點記下來，再寫文章。也可以先讀文章，讀懂之後，寫一篇短文。後面這種方法簡單一些，比較容易做到。
第11單元的第一部分是由幾組篇章構成的聽力練習，每段約有200—250個詞左右，每段聽力都配有5道選擇題。第12單元的練習是由兩段各為500詞左右的較長文章組成，聽後各寫出一段短文。第11和12單元的其餘部分與前面的單元一樣，配有閱讀和問答等項內容和練習。
《英語口譯綜合能力(2級)》除了這12個單元的課文和練習之外，還編寫了5套全真模擬試題供學員參考練習，為參加考試做好充分的準備。
