艾菲特·雅可布森,男,1947年生,荷蘭籍,博士。是國際知名的植物科學家,現任瓦赫寧根大學植物科學院首席科學家。雅可布森教授十分重視中荷兩國的農業科研項目的合作,獲得2005年度中華人民共和國國際科學技術合作獎。

雅可布森教授十分重視中荷兩國的農業科研項目的合作。他和同事啟動了國際馬鈴薯基因組測序項目,並邀請中國農科院作為第一國際合作夥伴。該項目的實施將使中國馬鈴薯分子遺傳和育種研究躍居世界先進行列。他成功地策劃了中荷戰略聯盟項目(973計畫),該項目共吸引400萬歐元的資金建立了雙邊基礎性高科技合作研究的重要平台,共同開展合作研究。他積極引進先進的技術,通過2n配子技術交流和開發,使中國專家快速掌握這一先進、高效的育種技術,成功培育了高澱粉馬鈴薯新品種"中大1號"。他還積極從荷方申請項目,目前已經在中國投入200萬歐元建立實驗室,現擁有各種儀器100多台件,總價值1500多萬元。該實驗室承擔了20多個863和973項目。
雅可布森教授是荷蘭接受中國學生最早和培養學生最多的教授之一,已畢業的博士9名,在讀的15名。他非常熱愛中國,對中國人民懷有深厚的感情。近20年來,一直致力於與中國在農業人才培養和農業科學研究領域的合作,為中國農業科技進步和經濟發展作出了重大的貢獻。
