《胡適英文文存2:中國哲學與思想史》收錄了胡適有關中國哲學與思想史的論文數十篇。《胡適英文文存》系列結集了胡適於20世紀20年代左右到60年代初之間撰寫的英文文章或英文演講，它們大多都曾發表於頗具影響的英文刊物上，並對當時的中國社會產生過重大影響。按主題分編為《中國文學與社會》、《中國哲學與思想史》和《民族危機與公共外交》三冊，由普林斯頓大學東亞系教授周質平選編。
作者簡介
胡適（1891.12.17—1962.2.24），漢族，徽州績溪人。原名嗣穈，暱稱穈兒，學名洪騂，字希疆，後改名胡適，字適之，筆名天風、藏暉等。現代著名學者、詩人、歷史學家、文學家、哲學家。
因提倡文學改良而成為新文化運動的領袖之一，胡適是第一位提倡白話文、新詩的學者，致力於推翻二千多年的文言文，與陳獨秀同為五四運動的軸心人物，對中國近代史產生了較為深遠的影響。
