In addition to typing and taking minutes, office professionals also have to put files in order, write letters, answer the phone, issue documents, implement regulations of their company, and train other staff. Besides having a good knowledge of language, office professionals should also be good at using Word Processors; they may have to master other software programs too. Furthermore, office professionals have to operate different office equipment in their work, such as computers, fax machines, scanners, copiers, shredders, and so on. What is more, office professionals sometimes need to use the internet, for example, in sending E-mails, making reservations, shopping on-line, chatting on-line with customers, etc. In a word, well-organized office professionals are essential for a company.

《職業通識英語》依據教育部《高職高專教育英語課程教學要求(2012)》的規定,秉承”實用為主,夠用為度,學以致用”的原則進行規劃和編寫。經過3年時間的充分調研與發現,分析當前中高職兩階段公共英語教材欠銜接的問題,組建由中高職院校英語教師參與的教材編寫團隊,該團隊結合自身的教學體驗,充分了解中高職銜接學生的英語水平,並借鑑澳洲高等職業教育的教學理念,協同編寫了本套教材,以期能對當前中高職兩階段公共英語教材有機銜接提供幫助。
作者簡介
黃奕雲,廣東輕工職業技術學院套用外語學院副教授,主要研究方向:英語語言學,英語教育語言學,二語習得,國際商務管理,跨文化交際。從事高職英語教學17年,教學經驗豐富,教學方法多樣,教學成績突出,主持廣東省哲學社會規劃課題1項;主持教育部英語教指委教改課題1項,主持輕工職教集團課題1項;主持校級社科與教改課題5個。
