聶和民，1978年生於湖南，2009年獲新加坡國立大學化學與生物分子工程博士學位，2010-2012年在紐約哥倫比亞大學醫學中心從事博士後研究，2012年被聘為湖南大學教授、博士生導師。2013年起擔任中國生物醫學工程學會組織工程與再生醫學分會理事會青年委員，2017年起擔任英文雜誌《Current Smart Materials》編委。2015年獲“湖南省自然科學傑出青年基金”，2017年被聘為湖南大學嶽麓學者。

長期致力於生物材料、細胞治療、再生醫學領域的研究工作，以第一作者或通訊作者在Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews、Biomaterials、Journal of Controlled Release、Journal of Materials Chemistry B、ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces、Biotechnology and Bioengineering等雜誌上發表了20餘篇論文（引用次數超過1500，h-index和i10-index皆為12），參與了五本英文學術專著（《Handbook of Intelligent Scaffold for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine》、《Molecular, Cellular, and Tissue Engineering》、《Comprehensive Biomaterials》、《Tissue Engineering: Principles and Practice》、《Stem Cells in Craniofacial Development and Regeneration》）的編纂工作，並承擔多個英文SCI期刊的審稿工作。
