生平

維吉尼亞·梅奧1920年生於密蘇里州聖路易斯。原是歌女，在好萊塢充當小角色。40年代在喜劇片中扮演過放蕩的女主角，後在銀幕中顯示出表演才華，轉入正劇角色。50年代成為好萊塢極有魅力的金髮女星，被摩洛哥蘇丹稱為“生活中的真實上帝”。她主演或參與演出的主要影片為《公主與海盜》、《黃金時代》、《妙人絕跡》、《西點軍校的故事》、《七海蛟龍》、《魔鬼峽谷》、《理查王與十字軍》、《猶他州城堡》等。2005年在加州去世。
