簡懷玉，男，漢族，1962年12月出生於湖南省新邵縣新田鋪鎮小江嶺村。任清華大學正教授和博士研究生導師，是清華大學首批教學科研系列責任教授，曾獲教育部跨世紀人才榮譽稱號，國內外主要學術團體兼職有：《數學評論》（ZentralblattMath.）評論員，NortheastenMath.J.和中國《數學進展》等雜誌的編委，中國工業與套用數學學會常務理事和秘書長。

1979年7月畢業於新邵三中；1979.9—1983.7在湖南師範大學數學繫念本科,獲學士學位;1985.9—1988.5在湖南大學套用數學繫念碩士研究生,獲碩士學位;1992.2—1994.6在清華大學套用數學繫念博士研究生,獲博士學位.
工作經歷
1983年7月參加工作，先後任新邵一中（83.7—85.9）高中部教師、懷化學院（88.6—92.1）講師、中國科學院數學與系統研究數學所博士後（94.7—96.11）、清華大學數學科學系副教授（96.11—2000.6），2000年7月至今任清華大學正教授和博士研究生導師，是清華大學首批教學科研系列責任教授，曾獲教育部跨世紀人才榮譽稱號，國內外主要學術團體兼職有：《數學評論》（ZentralblattMath.）評論員，NortheastenMath.J.和中國《數學進展》等雜誌的編委，中國工業與套用數學學會常務理事和秘書長。
