《異化與本真:尤金·奧尼爾戲劇荒誕特徵藝術》嘗試研究奧尼爾戲劇中滲透著的荒誕特徵,共分為五章。第一章探討了存在主義與荒誕的關係;第二章則探討奧尼爾戲劇中反映出來的荒誕主義特徵,及其與存在主義和一些荒誕主義劇作家之間的並置、重疊和差異。第三章至第五章對奧尼爾戲劇創作的三個時期體現的荒誕主義特徵進行了具體分析。
