王緝慈,女,漢族。1946年2月生於昆明。籍貫廣西博白。北京大學城市與環境學院教授、博士生導師,國際地理聯合會經濟空間動態委員會指導委員(IGU Commission on Dynamics of Economic Space,The members of the Steering Committee)、同濟大學兼職教授。其它兼職工作有:《北京大學學報(自然科學版)》編輯、《世界地理研究》副主編、《地域研究與開發》副主編,廈門創新型城市顧問等。

經歷
在北京大學主要講授“工業地理學”、“技術與區域發展”課程,主要從事產業集群和區域發展方面的研究。多次出國參加國際會議。1985年、1990年、1995年曾三次在加拿大進修和從事專題研究。代表性著作有《現代工業地理學》(中國科學技術出版社,1994年)、《新的產業空間-高技術產業開發區的發展與布局》(合著,北京大學出版社,1993年)、《創新的空間-企業集群與區域發展》(北京大學出版社,2001年)等。發表中英文論文百餘篇,主要有“The changingindustrial geography of the Chinese special economic zones”,Economic Geography,1986,62 ⑷: 307-320,“An analysis of new-tech agglomeration in Beijing: a new industrial district in the making?”,Environment and Planning A,1998,30⑷: 681-701等。2003年創辦並開始主持“地方產業集群研究網”論壇
王緝慈教授1992年開始擔任國際地理聯合會(IGU)工業空間組織委員會(Commission on Organization of Industrial Spaces)常務委員(Full Member)(1992—1996,1997—2000,2001-2004),經濟空間動態委員會(IGU Commission on Dynamics of Economic Spaces)指導委員(Steering Member)(2008-2012),1994年在北京成功組織了東亞工業空間變化國際討論會(中、日、韓),2000年在東莞成功組織了有十九個國家學者參加的學術年會。鑒於對該委員會的貢獻,2005年她獲得顧問小組(Mentor panel)成員的榮譽。
