王祥玉,男,1974年1月出生於江蘇寶應縣,博士,南京大學天文系天體物理教授,美國國家航空航天局(NASA)Swift衛星理論計算組成員。

1995年7月於南京師範大學物理系獲理論物理學士學位,1998年7月獲南京師範大學物理系理論物理碩士學位,2001年9月獲南京大學天文系天體物理博士學位。

研究領域

從事伽瑪射線暴、高能宇宙線、超新星 shock breakout等課題的研究,取得的成果包括:1)系統研究了伽瑪射線暴的高能輻射的起源; 2)提出超高能宇宙線起源的一種新模型-巨超新星模型;3)提出了超新星 shock breakout 的非熱輻射的起源模型,並首次指出 SN2008D的X射線輻射是shock breakout輻射。

參與Swift team的關於GRB060729的文章 (Grupe, Gronwall, Wang et al., 2007, ApJ, 662, 443)被 Pennsylvanian State University 和 NASA 以媒體形式對外報導。
