1964年生，理學博士。中國科學院水生生物研究所研究員，博士生導師。農業部現代農業產業技術體系崗位科學家。中國水產學會理事，中國水產學會魚病專業委員會秘書長，中國動物學會寄生蟲學專業委員會委員，中國科學技術協會“病蟲害災情預測與防治”專家組成員，全國水產技術推廣總站技術諮詢專家組成員，全國動物衛生風險評估專家委員會委員，湖北省政府專項津貼獲得者。1986年畢業於南京大學生物系，獲學士學位，1989年和1995年分別在中國科學院水生生物研究所獲理學碩士和理學博士學位；1995～1997年，在日本東京大學農學部做博士後研究，2000年9月在捷克科學院寄生蟲學研究所進行合作研究，2002年10月赴埃及蘇伊士運河大學訪問研究，2003年6～9月，在美國夏威夷大學太平洋生物醫學研究中心做訪問研究。一直從事寄生蟲學和魚病學研究，在國內外共發表研究論文80餘篇，其中30餘篇被SCI收錄；參編著作2部；獲得中國科學院自然科學二等獎和武漢市科技進步二等獎各1項；先後主持國家自然科學基金項目、中科院青年科學家小組項目、中科院方向性項目（課題）、農業部現代農業產業技術體系建設項目、湖北省科技攻關重大項目、武漢市青年科技晨光計畫項目等，曾參加國家自然科學基金重點項目、 “973”項目、“863”項目、中科院重大項目等。
