This story comes from Tale of the Wolf on Zhongshan Mountain written by Ma Zhongxi of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Master Dongguo decides to help a wolf that is being chased by hunters. But the wolf wants to eat him. The name Master Dongguo has become a synonym for an addle-headed person who cannot tell good from evil.
