湯華燊

湯華燊，澳大利亞華裔化學家，RAFT聚合發明人，曾獲提名角逐諾貝爾化學獎。

2015年05月29日，當選澳大利亞科學院院士。2015年05月，入選第九批“千人計畫”創新人才長期項目。

2015年60歲的湯華燊是越南華裔，24歲抵澳。因澳大利亞聯邦政府在財政預算案中削減科研經費，他在2014年9月被澳大利亞聯邦科學和產業研究組織裁退，但他仍以不授薪榮譽研究員身份繼續工作，包括帶一名博士後學生。在拒絕多所澳大利亞大學的邀請後，他日前選擇接受了莫納什大學化學院特聘教授的5年契約。

據《悉尼先驅晨報》報導，本月25日，湯華燊和其他21位科學家一起，在坎培拉出席了入選科學院的相關儀式，其中包括他與之長期合作的有機化學家埃西奧·里卡多和格雷姆·莫德。他們3人曾共同發表超過100篇科研論文，研發成果被包括歐萊雅、IBM和杜邦公司在內的全球約60個公司廣泛套用，他們也因此於2014年獲頒克洛斯獎。
