本教材的選題是在充分考查高等院校土木工程、水文水環境相關學科全球化發展的基礎上提出的,可成為滿足水文水環境專業雙語教學和國際交流的需求的優秀教材。 內容上,本書以水循環為綱,闡明了水循環各要素和各種水體水文現象的物理機制、時空分布及其相互關係;力圖揭示水在自然界的基本運動規律,並反映水文科學的新觀點和新成就,體系新穎,內容豐富。結構上,本書主體為英文(約占80%),難點部分有漢語標註(約占20%),以照顧到不同英語水平的學生。 在英語語言的準確性上,本書主編李珊珊博士就讀於美國路易斯維爾大學土木工程專業的水文水資源方向,導師有多年的水文學科研和教學經驗,Thomas D.
