劇情簡介

詹姆斯．卡格尼主演的黑幫電影經典作。他在這部演技光芒四射的代表作之中飾演有嚴重戀母情結的歹徒柯弟賈勒特，他象神經病一樣棄妻子於不顧，到處瘋狂做案。警方費了九牛二虎之力圍捕他，他則率領手下暴徒躲在深山中跟警方對峙。導演拉烏爾．沃爾什在片中安排了不少氣氛十足的暴力動作場面，但更出色的是對男主角偏執狂的生動刻畫。瑪格麗特．威徹利的邪惡母親和維吉尼亞．梅奧的性格女友亦演出旗鼓相當，結局拍出相當感人的悲劇性。
