創作背景
倪柝聲於1938年-1939年旅歐時完成的著名作品。
首先用英語在英國（開西大會）、丹麥講道時發表，回中國後由上海福音書房出版了中文文本。
該書被許多基督徒視為經典著作，同時是西方基督教界最熟悉的一本倪柝聲著作。
該書已經用多種語言出版，至今至少出版了25萬冊。

該書內容是【和合本聖經】關於羅馬書五章～羅馬書八章和羅馬書12章，共分為14章，
甚么是正常的基督徒生活？關於基督徒的生活，使徒保羅在加拉太二章二十節，給了我們一個他自己的定義。他說，『現在活著的，不再是我，乃是基督在我裡面活著。』他不是講些特別或奇異的事，來作為基督徒高峰生活的標準。他乃是說到，神對於基督徒所定正常生活的準則。扼要的說，就是我不再活著，乃是基督在我裡面活出他的生命。這正是本書所闡明的。
