簡介
安徽中山畫院副秘書長、馬鞍山市文敬體仔藝理論研究會主席、馬鞍山中山畫院院長、中國美術教育研究照驗判贈會會員、安徽省美術家協會會員。1973年開始發表美術作品，擅長油畫、水粉畫。1980年以後專攻水墨戲曲人物，作品風格獨具，多出新機。涉獵文藝理論，著有《叩開藝術的神秘殿堂》、《藝術教育和教育的藝術》、《認識動的情節、表現寧靜的世界》等30餘萬字。評論文章多有發表、結集祖漿捆，為學者型畫埋阿紙家。
榮譽成就
1989年參加“安徽省建國四十周年美術作品展”獲三等獎。
1990年應北京第十一屆亞運會組委會的邀請，參加“亞運會藝術節”舉辦“楊慧生黃梅戲舞台人物畫展”。
1993年英國劍橋世界名人傳記中心授予“1992—1993年度世界有特殊貢獻名人獎”傳略收格凝入英國劍橋《世界名人錄》（第16版）。其藝術簡歷先後收入《中國書畫名家簽名鈐章藝術總覽》、《安徽文藝家藝術檔案》等多部辭書。
1996年應山東濰坊市政協書畫室的邀請，在山東濰坊“風箏都畫廊”舉辦“楊慧生戲畫作品展”。
1997年參加“全國美術教師作品展”，獲“優秀作品獎”。
1999年戲曲畫參加在中國美術館舉辦的“民革慶祝建國50周年書畫大展”。作品收入大型書畫集《墨海擷珍》，為中國國民黨革命委員會中央委員會收藏。
2000年應北京奧申委的邀請，大型水墨戲畫系列作品《徽班.徽宅》，參加北京申奧展。
2004年應中國電影家協會的邀請，參加“中國電影百年” 作品展覽，獲“藝術創作獎”。
2007年水墨戲畫作品被香港《當代中國美術》系列叢書編委會授予“當代中國美術優秀獎”。
2008年作品參加“走進廣東‘友和杯’第六屆海峽兩岸書畫大展”，榮獲“中國書畫五百強”。
曾先後兩次被馬鞍山市人民政府授予“優秀文藝工作者”稱號，被安徽省人民政府授予“安徽省自學成才者疊鍵估”稱號。美術作品多被各地博物館、美術機構和收藏家收藏。
