Professor Lin holds three degrees (BA, MFA and PhD) and has been awarded Fellowships of the China Industrial Design Association and the Society of Science and Art.
Research Interests
Professor Lin’s research interests cover cultural and historic aspects of design worldwide. He is particularly interested in structural features or characteristics exhibited in all forms of decorative art and design. Subject areas include: symmetry; Culture and Design Theory; regular patterns and tilings; periodic design. His research perspectives base on cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary subjects. He has extensive experience also as an expert on Digital Media Art. He supervises several Masters Dissertations and is the PhD supervisor.
