林海帆，生物學家，浙江溫州洞頭人。美國耶魯大學尤金－希金斯講席教授（終身）、耶魯大學幹細胞中心創始主任、耶魯大學醫學院細胞生物學系、遺傳學系、婦產科與生殖科學系教授。
林海帆任國際幹細胞研究學會（ISSCR） 董事、紐約幹細胞基金會(NYSCF)顧問，美國康州政府生命科學顧問組核心成員、中國國家幹細胞研究指導協調委員會成員與科技部幹細胞研究國家重大科研計畫專家組成員，上海科技大學生命科學與技術學院創始院長與特聘教授，清華大學講席教授，復旦大學顧問教授，世界溫州人聯誼總會顧問，溫州市政府引才顧問，及兩家生物高科技公司科學顧問。2018年當選美國科學院院士。
林海帆長期從事幹細胞生物學、生殖生物學、RNA生物學、與表觀遺傳學的研究，並對這些領域作出了重要貢獻。

人物經歷
1968年，林海帆開始先後就讀於北岙國小（1968年-1972年）、北岙中學（1972年-1974年）、洞頭第一中學（1974年-1976年）。
1982年，復旦大學畢業，獲得生物化學專業學士學位。
1990年，美國康奈爾大學博士畢業，之後在美國卡內基研究院從事博士後研究（1990年-1994年）。
1994年，在杜克大學醫學院任教，歷任細胞生物學系助理教授、副教授、正教授，杜克大學分子細胞生物學、遺傳學、與癌症生物學博士導師（至2006年）。
2005年，創立杜克大學幹細胞研究計畫並任創始主任。
2006年，應邀加盟耶魯大學創建耶魯幹細胞研究中心並任創始主任，歷任耶魯大學醫學院細胞生物學系教授、遺傳系教授、婦產科系教授，幹細胞中心創始主任。
2013年7月，兼任上海科技大學免疫化學研究所教授。
2014年3月，兼任上海科技大學生命科學與技術學院院長。
2018年，當選為美國文理科學院院士，美國國家科學院院士。

- 科研綜述
林海帆發現了第一個控制胚胎細胞分裂的母體效應基因[1]，證明了幹細胞非對稱性分裂的自我更新的理論與幹細胞微環境假說，發現並命名了多種在人類與動、植物界共有的幹細胞基因，包括著名的Argonaute基因家系。發現並命名新的一類遺傳調控分子piRNA，（piRNA幾乎同時也被其他三個實驗室發現），此發現被世界頂尖科學期刊《科學》（Science）評為2006年十大科學突破之一。他發現了piRNA在基因調控與癌症中的重要功能，提出並證明了有關piRNA在表觀遺傳與轉錄後調控的重要理論。他也率先發現了翻譯調控在幹細胞自我更新中的重要功能。
