科研方面主要從事光纖雷射技術﹑中紅外光子技術、光纖感測技術與機器人視覺和數字圖像處理方面的研究,主持和參加了歐盟第7框架計畫項目、歐盟區域發展基金(ERDF)、澳大利亞自然科學基金探索項目、國家自然科學基金、中國博士後科學基金特別資助項目、國家863計畫、總裝備部預研、新品等一系列科研項目。現為IEEE高級會員,OSA會員,中國宇航協會光電專委會委員,已發表學術論文70餘篇,其中第一作者32篇(SCI檢索27篇,影響因子2以上的15篇)。並為《Optics Letters》、《Laser Physics Letters》、《Optics Express》、《IEEE Photonics Technology Letters》、《IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics》、《IEEE Photonics Journal》、《Optics Communications》、《Journal of Modern Optics》、《Optical Engineering》、《Chinese Optics Letters》、《中國雷射》、《光學學報》等等國內外權威刊物審稿人。已授權國家發明專利5項。教學方面主要承擔本科生學位基礎課《物理光學》的教學工作。
